SHIRLEY's TIP: Shirley cut the striped pattern paper into strips and chose to only use 3 of them on this page against a white Bazzill background.  Whilst the glitter aspects of the pattern paper really don't show up in the scan, just a little of it can be used to great effect thus giving you left over pattern paper to use on other projects!

SHARON's TIP: Add brads & flowers to the pattern paper itself to draw attention to the small details and to add some dimension!

SHIRLEY's TIP: Try adding some hand drawn feelers to your butterfly buttons once they are attached to your project to make them appear a little more life like!

SHARON's TIP: I got this fantastic mirror at Ikea - it was about $5 - and then I picked up an easel for about $2 and just decorated them both.  Such a simple project but so very effective too!

SHIRLEY's TIP: As I knew I had a lot of journaling to add to this page, I decided to cut 3 strips from the train pattern paper and use these to add a little interest to the background of my page without overwhelming the overall design.

Or what about Sharon's take on using the same paper!

QUOTE

A memory is a photograph taken by the heart to make a special moment last forever.  And of all the memory pictures that happy times can bring, the best are those that families make together.

SHARON's SKETCH: Why not try my fun sketch for your next page?  It's a great way to incorporate two (or more) pattern papers onto one scrapbooking page and the viewers eye is really drawn into the centre photo (or photos) too!

Or what about this one using triangles of pattern paper as well!

SHIRLEY's TIP: Adding a little hand (or machine) stitching to already printed accents (such as sections of the blocked pattern paper) can really add a lovely homemade finishing touch.  Adding a little brad to one (or all) of the flower centres also adds that little bit of dimension as well!

SHARON's TIP: Try cutting out elements from the pattern paper to use as an accent on their own like I did with the butterfly.  I added a little pen doodling as well to give the butterfly the appearance of flight!

SHIRLEY's TIP: When it came to lacing together this 5 x 7 matchbook style album I designed, I used a strong white cotton and threaded the buttons onto the thread before tying them off over the centre button.  Just to ensure that the knot didn't slip and become untied over time, I added a couple of drops of Dimensional Magic to the knot itself - you can't see that it is on there but there is no way that knot will be able to work its way undone!

SHARON's TIP: I decided to divide my wooden album pieces into two so that I could make these cute decorative cards - my intention is to use them to get my classroom kids to sign as farewell girfts for my student teachers at the end of the month!
